Discover Sailing Experience
It's all about the experience
A Discover Sailing Experience is a great way for you to participate in a three hour fun sailing experience at Albury Wodonga Discover Sailing Centre with a partner, group of friends, work colleagues, or family.
It’s a great opportunity to find out just how fun, safe, accessible, and affordable sailing is. You’ll be welcomed to the club and have the chance to enjoy the social environment of clubs. Depending on the Experience, this could include a drink, bbq, or meal as part of the Discover Sailing Experience.
Discover Sailing Experiences are available at Albury Wodonga Discover Sailing Centre and are delivered by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors. The emphasis is on giving you a practical hands-on experience of sailing focussing on having fun. The clubs qualified Instructors will be out on the water with you, ensuring your safety. The Discover Sailing Experience is ideal for people who have never been sailing and have no sailing knowledge.
People of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities can participate in a Discover Sailing Experience. Partners, friends, work colleagues, and families can participate together (minimum age of 5 years old applies for children accompanied by a parent or guardian). You can book as a group or book a place for just yourself and join a group to meet other people new to sailing.
Discover Sailing Experiences can be done in two types of boats - dinghies and trailable yachts. A dinghy is small boat that holds up to 4 people and a trailable yacht is a larger boat that carries a larger group. Dinghy sailing is recommended for children under the age of 14. If you’re not sure which type of boat you would like to sail, contact Albury Wodonga Discover Sailing Centre to find out more about dinghies and keelboats.
