“Hey Dad, what does it mean when the ocean turns all black?”

The Around French Island Catamaran Challenge is an off-the beach catamaran event like no other: competitors are given a seven-hour limit to circumnavigate French Island in the middle of Westernport Bay, dealing with tides, fluky winds, commercial shipping channels, shoals, hazards, all on top of nutrition, hydration, mental resilience and physical exhaustion. Albury Wodonga Sailing Club father and daughter sailors, Mark Sullivan and Millie Sullivan joined this event in 2026.

Ready for Summer sailing?

AWSC is preparing for a Summer of sailing in 2026 with courses for people to begin their journey or hone their skills on Lake Hume.

Members recognised for 2024-25 Season

AWSC stalwart Brian Royal has been awarded the Club person of the Year for his long service in organising services in major regattas held at the Club as well as in fund raising for the Club.

Taipans on Lake Hume

AWSC hosted the Taipan Victorian State Titles 2025 on the Victorian long weekend in March. With liberal doses of country hospitality, delicious home-baking, relaxed atmosphere, superb race organization, expansive grounds and a veritable tribe of friendly, willing volunteers, sailors on 25 boats went home on Monday very happy, tired and impressed.
